Obama has been winning some good press lately with a comedic endorsement by Borat and widespread praise for his speech at the Iowa's influential Jefferson-Jackson dinner, attended by about 9,000 Democratic state party leaders.
On the Republican side, Fred Thompson has gotten a small flurry of media attention lately with his introduction of a plan to “save” social security and scoring the endorsement from the National Right to Life Committee. That endorsement is generating a bit of controversy because Thompson does not support a federal ban on abortion, unlike primary rival Mike Huckabee, for instance.
