White House spokeswoman Dana Perino and other executive branch employees may appear shocked by former press secretary Scott McClellan's tell-all book, but White House reporters are not. Former Washington Post correspondent Peter Baker, for one, says McClellan felt “burned” by his experience “passing along untrue statements” following Valerie Plame's exposure as a CIA employee. Meanwhile, NBC has landed the first broadcast and cable interviews with McClellan since excerpts of What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception were released.
