Barack Obama is calling into question John McCain's claims to be "maverick" in a new ad and messaging campaign.

According to the Seattle Times, Obama recently told a crowd: "The price [McCain] paid for his party's nomination has been to reverse himself on position after position," echoing the "flip flop" messaging strategy from the 2004 election.

Obama's new rhetoric comes after McCain accused his rival of willing to lose a war to win an election and visiting the gym more than he visits wounded troops.
