NEW YORK:
Omnicom Group Inc.'s PR businesses' contributed revenues of $315 million in its
first quarter of 2008, an increase of about 7% from the prior year. The PR
revenues accounted for 10% of the company's total earnings.
Companywide, Omnicom reported total net income of $208.7 million on revenues
of about $3.2 billion for its first quarter ended March 31, 2008, compared to net
income of $183 million on revenues of about $2.84 billion in the same period
last year.
CEO John Wren attributed sustained revenue growth at the company to its lack of significant presence in the hard-hit financial services or housing markets.
