Thornley named 2009 chairman of CCPRF
OTTAWA: Joseph Thornley, CEO of Thornley Fallis Communications & 76design, has been elected the 2009 chairman of the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms (CCPRF). Next year's focus includes organizing CCPRF-branded events for practitioners and students, and promoting PR's role in expanding practice areas such as digital and social media.

IBI hires Hawlen Bay Consulting for IR services
TORONTO: IBI, a junior international mining and investment company, has selected Hawlen Bay Consulting for IR services, effective December 15. In a statement, IBI president and CEO, Gary A. Fitchett, said the company has been building its gold and uranium business and is now ready to communicate with the investment community via an expanded IR effort. Hawlen Bay will work with Dennis Mellersh, IBI's director of communications and IR, to target private investors, investment clubs, fund managers, brokers, and analysts.
