LONDON: Hewlett-Packard has selected Edelman to
handle its laser and printing business in EMEA, edging out incumbent Porter
Novelli, reports PRWeek UK.
The account is believed to be worth six figures, and the business
will include media and analyst relations for 70 countries. Hill & Knowlton and Burson-Marsteller were
also incumbents; both worked on the account at a regional level in several
countries, it was reported. All three agencies continue to work with HP on
other parts of the business.
Bob Wynne, EVP for PN in the US, said the agency is still working on
HP's laser and printing business in the US and its domestic offices were not involved in the EMEA
pitch. Earlier this year, PN endured a major setback when HP selected Edelman to handle the
majority of communications for its personal systems group (PSG) in the United States.
