LOS ANGELES: Hollywood publicist Warren Cowan died May 14 after a recent cancer diagnosis. He was 87 years old. Cowan, whose career spanned more than 60 years, became a partner alongside Henry C. Rogers at Rogers & Cowan in 1950, and went on to start Warren Cowan & Associates in 1994.
Some of Cowan's clients included Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, and Clint Eastwood.
Cowan worked for several charities, including the United Way, where he served as the national committee's communications chair.
Funeral services were held May 18 at Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries in LA. Cowan is survived by his wife of 10 years, Barbara Gilbert-Cowan, two daughters from a previous marriage, and eight grandchildren. Donations can be made in Cowan's name to The Hole in the Wall Gang Fund in New Haven, CT.
