The New York Times reported that CBS News, once the highest-rated and most distinguished network news organization, is considering outsourcing some news coverage to CNN. Reports in 2003 also
linked CNN and ABC News. Some
wondered, with CNN star reporters appearing on the
CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and
60 Minutes, how much different would CBS News look, post-deal? CBS and CNN both
denied they are negotiating a deal.
In the spotlight: The Pulitzer Prize
This year's big winner: the Washington Post, which took home six Pulitzers on Monday, nearly half of the journalism awards. The New York Times won two. Other winners represented the Boston Globe, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, and Reuters. Bob Dylan won a special prize.
